This painting is orientated from the private beach at the historic quarantine station in New South Wales. The old red brick building featured is now a cafe but the precinct originally served as the daunting first point of entry where newly arrived passengers stepped off ships to face processing and medical isolation. The sombre sky and rolling water reflect the location’s quiet, unsettling history, offering an atmospheric look at one of Sydney Harbour’s most significant heritage sites.
