HEATHERBRAE1854 ART PROGRAM
Heatherbrae1854 recognises the importance of art and design to inspire and connect the broader community by featuring a unique collection of contemporary Australian works.
In 2025, Heatherbrae1854 invited unrepresented Australian artists 18+ to submit their artwork for a new programme that could see their artwork selected to adorn the walls of the historic Heatherbrae home, in addition to being involved in future commercial opportunities.
Submissions are now closed, and we are thrilled to announce our first artist as part of our new art program – Melbourne based, Jesslyn Murphy. Find out more about Jesslyn in her bio below, and view her art here.
We’re so proud to feature her unique work in the kitchen and halls of Heatherbrae and are looking forward to sharing more with you about her unique work shortly.
Our art program is poised to evolve over coming months with a range of exciting artists and creators to be announced.
JESSLYN MURPHY
Jesslyn creates impressionistic, semi-abstract landscapes that have been described as making the viewer feel small, a feeling of quiet awe. Drama comes from the intensity of sunlight, vastness of place or secret foliage.
Her process involves on-site sketching and photography, then returning to her Melbourne studio to map out those experiences using acrylic paint and oil sticks as small studies before committing the final piece to timber panels or canvas. Strictly professional quality paint and materials are used and sustainable timber is chosen for framing.
Jesslyn has been recognised as a finalist in FourtyFiveDownstairs Emerging Artist Prize 2025 and won first prize Kingston Arts Artz Blitz in 2016 and Peoples Choice 2017.
As well as running an art practice, Jesslyn is a medical sonographer and mother. Click to shop Jesslyn Murphy Art
